In Praise of Cheerful Men by George Will

Next time you're tempted to air a grievance (and we all have them, don't we?), consider the blessed outcome of this story of patience, survival and eventual triumph.

There is something about old people that inspires me, when I learn of their lives, their hardships, their adversities and the eventual triumph over it all.  To remain cheerful, faithful and true when all the world seems to have conspired against you, and to eschew skepticism, cynicism, doubt and fear in the midst of it all is to have truly lived.

The heroes and heroines of George Will's story are just such people.

Oh, and to those who still deny the Holocaust, drink deeply from this page. . .
